1. We hit the Magic Kingdom & Epcot so far.
2. Tomorrow is Typhoon Lagoon.
3. Having fun already.
Not so good stuff:
1. Dropped my camera already and busted my lens. Somehow managing to make it work.
2. So got caught in a major downpour without rain gear...soaked!
3. Time is flying already....the good stuff just seems to go by so fast!
Otherwise, no complaints. Loving it! These two are making it all worth while. Their excitement is contagious!
Hope you are all having a wonderful week. We sure are!!!

So, this will be my last blog post before our trip. I want to,once again, thank everyone who was kind enough to take the time and give me some Disney recommendations. One of my closest friends and I sat down until 3 a.m. on Friday night surfing a website that she uses when she goes to Disney. It is All Ears Net. Boy, it was filled with pictures, info, and little details that you just might miss. Great resource. For anyone planning a Disney trip, it is a must visit site. I understand they also have a newsletter that you can sign up for. Pretty Neat.
One of the neatest things that I found was DiVine. Isn't she amazing? If I didn't know about her, we would have been sure to walk right past. Now, I'll keep my eyes open. Psssst...I'm the only one who knows about this, so I'm hoping it surprises everyone else! I'm also keeping Push a secret, too!
So, as I was packing and making sure we are all ready, I actually had the chance to scrap a little. I finished this layout today while Ryan visited with his Dad.
More Fancy Pants goodies. I love these pictures of Ryan. He is getting so big, so fast. I have to bribe him now to take time from his busy schedule for pictures, and I took these about a month ago. He's still my little baby, though!
Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful week. I will be taking my laptop along, but who knows if I'll have a chance to do anything with it, so if you don't see me around these parts....see you in August! Thanks for stopping by!

The big challenge lies ahead now. After the 10 weeks are over, there will be 10 finalist who will compete for the BIG prize! Believe me, looking at the other winners, it will be quite the competition. BHG SBE will give us an assignment that we will have about a week to complete. Then, they will post our work up on the website for the public to vote once again. The layout with the most votes wins! What a nail bitter, huh? Well, that's not until September, so I have some time to wait and be a nervous wreck...LOL!
In other news, Ryan chose a winner of the RAK that I will mailing out. He picked number 1:
You are going to have a FANTASTIC trip! We go all the time so I'll give you a few pointers & email you the rest (if you don't mind)In the Magic Kingdom you've got to see The Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Magic Carpets of Aladdin (just like a dumbo ride), Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, Astro Orbiter, Tomorrowland Transit Authority (no lines & it's relaxing!), Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin (get a fast pass) , Stitch's Great Escape! (get a fast pass), Mickey's PhilharMagic (Great show get a fast pass), Dumbo & the Mad Tea Party-teacups.

So, Sara, please send me an e-mail at Denine2@aol.com with your address, so I can get your goodies in the mail as soon as possible! Thanks to everyone who stopped by to comment and for all of the wonderful Disney tips. You guys really helped me out a lot. I have all of the tips printed and packed, so I can use them when we get to Disney!
On a not-so fun note, my clothes dryer died yesterday. Poop! I put the clothes in and walked away. Almost 2 hours later, I remembered that my clothes were in the dryer (oops!), so I went to get them out and they were still wet. So, I guess the dryer died mid-cycle since they felt sort of warm. Geez, just when you think that you are ahead of the money game...BAM!...something happens to throw you right back to the beginning. I am sure you guys can relate. Oh well, such is life. It's not life threatening and no one died, so I can't sweat the small stuff!
Since posting without pictures is no fun, here's a part of the layout that I am working on today. My new fun experiment...pipe cleaners (with some beads, of course)!
Not finished with it yet, but it's for the next HOF Challenge over at Creating Keepsakes. The challenges are the 1st of every month, so go check it out on August 1! Ok...off to finish scrapping! Have a super day!

I will be picking a winner for my RAK from this post tomorrow afternoon. I took a quick picture of the things that the winner will receive. There are a few more things, but there has to be a little surprise involved....right?
Included in the RAK are some papers from Scenic Route, American Crafts, Sassafrass Lass, and Pink Paislee. There are some adorable and colorful Pink Paislee letter stickers, some American Crafts Thickers Accents, and some Crate Paper letter rub ons. And since I am so into felt these past few weeks, I included some of my all-time favorite Creative Imaginations Creative Cafe felt pieces....some words and flowers. Oh, how I LOVE the Creative Cafe! Also, I tossed in some of the new Core'dinations cardstock...you know the textured stuff in the great colors with another color on the inside. What a wonderful concept! Great for when you tear or distress your paper edges! And, then you find the ever popular, never go out of style, always loved 7 Gypsies clear buttons. Phew! That was quite a bit to type!
So, this wonderful package of goodies will go out to one lucky winner. I will take the comments from all of my posts from this week until tomorrow to have Ryan pick the winner. So, leave me a comment to be entered!
I am off to scrap....enjoy the rest of your day!

I gathered some of my favorite things....beads, wire, felt, floss, and chipboard and went to town. Here is what I came up with:
What a fun frame project this turned out to be. I am actually going to head out to Michaels to see if I can find more frames to work with. I had such a great time adding all of the goodies to this frame. Here are some pictures of the details:
This is going to be a gift to the one little girl in the picture. I really hate to part with it, but I just know she will love it!
I am really enjoying all of the Disney tips that everyone is leaving in their comments. I am printing all of your e-mails and comments to take along with me. I so appreciate all of your help. If you happen to have any tips for Disney, please leave a comment here. I will include your name in the drawing for the scrap goodie RAK!
Enjoy your day!

I had the pleasure of chatting with the girls last night on their chat board, and I felt so welcome there. I have to say that they are truly a wonderful community of scrappers.
With the scrapbooking community, in general, growing more and more each day, it is sometimes hard to find a place to call home, a place where you can get to know everyone and share this wonderful hobby of ours. The girls at ScrapFreak have that going on and more. They are fun, friendly, and a little bit crazy (we all need a little craziness, right?).
Somewhere down there, you will see I added you guys to my blog! Yippee!
Don't forget to stop by my thread from yesterday with a Disney tip (or just a "hi") for a chance to win a fun RAK! Enjoy your Tuesday!

If any of you guys have any suggestions on things "not to miss" while in Disney, please leave a comment here. I have not been there in almost 20 years, and I want to try to get as much in as possible. Let's make a RAK out of this. Post a Disney suggestion here before this Friday the 25th. I will then pick a winner for a fun scrapbooking goodie package. Cool!
So, I did get some scrapbooking time in yesterday. I used some fun Fancy Pants goodies...one of my favorite companies!
I also used some acrylic paint for the title letters. I haven't used paint in ages! It was fun. I also used some Coasters from Imagination Project...I really miss that company. Good to have some stash when you need it, huh?
Well, off to start the day. Have a great one and thanks for stopping by!

Isn't the world just an incredible place?
Ok, so my crazy friend, Miss Becky Fleck, took great pleasure in tagging me this morning. I wasn't planning on blogging today, bit she roped me into it. So, here goes:
Ten years ago: 1998, huh? What was I doing then? I hadn't started scrapbooking then, and I wasn't a Mom yet. When I look back on it now, I can't even imagine how I filled my time. I guess I watched a lot of TV, went out with my friends, and was enjoying being a new homeowner. Oh, and I know I slept a lot more, too!
Five things on today's to-do list:
1. Clean Ryan's closet and get ready for the new school year.
2. Try to stay cool.
4. Straighten up my scrap desk getting ready for my Creative Sunday.
5. Go out to dinner with a few girlfriends (yippee)!
A snack I enjoy: Ice Cream. It has been so hot here lately that I could eat this for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
Things I would do if I were a millionaire:
1. Open a stray cat clinic for my friend, Candy (she practically runs one out of her house the way it is)
2. Take my entire family on a vacation abroad.
3. Take all of my friends on a cross country trek (think Thelma & Louise with out any crime...well, no killing at least).
4. Buy a Hummer!
5. Get a pool!
Places I have lived:
2. New Jersey
I am tagging:
It'll be fun to see their answers!
Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by!

Now, I know this is not a new idea. It's not earth-shattering or ground-breaking, but it is fun. I went to Michael's and picked up several 12x12 adjustable depth project frames (aka shadow boxes). They are just perfect for my layouts, especially the ones with lumpy embellishments. Can I say that I am just loving these things! I made a little photo collage of them hanging on my wall:
I am just so excited about these. And the cool thing is that I can change the layouts in them anytime I want to display my new work! How neat for a bit of quick redecorating!
If you are interested in displaying some of your artwork this way, you can pick these frames up at Michael's. They are normally $20, but I got all of them with my 50% off coupons. So each one was only $10 plus tax. I am sure other craft and hobby stores carry similar frames, too.
Hope you all enjoy your weekend! Thanks for stopping by and for all of your nice comments!

So, I was thrilled to be asked to be a part of a chat at the Scrapfreak website. I am pretty excited about it. I know several girls over there from other message boards, and I look forward to chatting with them once again. Plus, I love to talk about scrapbooking with people who "get it", so I think it will be fun. It will be on Monday, July 21 at 7:00 PM CST. Stop by the Scrapfreak chat room if you have a moment. I love to meet new people and make new friends!
Anyway, since I was not feeling the scrappy vibes today, I will share with you a layout that I did a little while back for a Halloween call for BHG Scrapbooks, etc.
Unfortunatelty, it didn't get picked up, but I like it anyway. After all, that is what matters most! Hope you enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by!

So back to the point...for those of you who have not seen this publication yet, it is basically about how to use other layouts to "scraplift" and make your own layout. It gives sketches and tons of layout ideas. I highly recommend this book. It is loaded with awesome ideas and uber talent! I think it would be great for all levels of scrapbookers...beginning to advanced. So, if you are looking for a good idea book, this is a good one to try!
If you happen to be one of the lucky scrapbookers published in it, please leave me a comment with the page number(s) in it. I would love to see who created what! Enjoy your day!

1. Prima: Retail Friendly Hybrid-What a fabulous concept to help merge the gap between paper and digital scrapbooking where both parties are in a win/win situation. Just look at their chipboard tags that coordinate with the digital images on the disc! Pure Genius. Check them out on the Prima blog.
2. Creative Imaginations: Karen Russell's Pre-printed 12x12 page protectors WITH pockets-Page protectors have been around from the beginning of time (ok, so maybe I exaggerate a bit, but you get the idea), but these page protectors are the SH*T! Protectors with gorgeous designs already printed on them and little pockets for your goodies, whether they be photos, paper, embellies, or what! They are the last 2 items in the picture below, BTW. I can't wait to see what the designers do with these, and I can't wait to get me some myself! Really...you have no idea! If I have wait too long, I might go insane! Anyway, you can check out more of Karen's beautifulreleases on her blog, here.
3. And last, but certainly NOT least, you have to check out the new Beadles at the Tinkering Ink blog! What a fun product with so many possibilities....for scrapbooking and lots of other crafts! These are definitely going to be a hit at CHA! Make sure to stop by the Tinkering Ink booth to get your fun Make & Take!
So, that's my first review of CHA goodies. I will be sure to let you guys know about anything else that I believe to be a "MUST SEE." I am sure there will be more! Peace!

Sure, it's a nice picture. It could use a little boost, though. So, I gave it a pic-me-up here:
I think I like it. I would like to play more to see what else I can do to make improvements, but it certainly looks better to me. Maybe a little color boost is in order...we'll see. Digital photography rocks...experimenting is so much fun! Stop by Jessica's blog to see her steps for a little ShaZAM, you could win a cool camera strap! Peace! Happy Saturday!

I have been kind of spoiled this summer. Between creating lesson plans for the upcoming school year and improving my home, I have been able to enjoy surfing message boards, galleries, and blogs to see some incredible scrapbooking, read some great stories, and "meet" some very sweet people. It almost makes me sad to know that I will have less time for these fun things once school starts in the Fall. I am enjoying it while I can, and I want to thank everyone who has left me praise in my gallery and nice comments here on my blog. With all of the nastiness that has surrounded the scrapbooking industry as of late, it is wonderful to know that there are good people out there....and we won't let the "scrooges" get us down!
On a scrappy note, some of you may have heard about The Ultimate Summer Challenge over at the Scrapbooks, etc. website. It's a 10-week challenge where each week participants create layouts based upon different challenges. A panel of judges then chooses the top 10 layouts of all that were received in a given week. The public then votes on those 10 layouts to choose a winner. At the end of the 10 weeks, 10 winners will then compete for the grand prize of $2500 (quite the prize, huh?)
Here is my layout for the 8 Photo challenge (this is week 4 of the challenge):
I had lots of fun with this layout. I mentioned before my addiction to beads lately...this time I added them to wire. I just may have to try my hand at jewelery making one day...maybe. Next weeks challenge involves scrapping your vacation pics with a collage that you download. Has anyone given any of the challenges a try? If not, why don't you? It's fun! You can vote for your favorite layout here. It's going to be a tough competition with many wonderful layouts.
Well, off to Home Depot to haggle for price on new carpet. Enjoy your day!
Thursday, July 10, 2008
Yes, that is more beads that you see. I told you that I was addicted! Only a few on this card, but I think just enough to raise the cuteness factor! You can head on over to the Tinkering Ink blog to see all of the papers from this beautiful line, and then you can stop by the Becoming Green gallery to see what the other DT members have done! Thanks for stopping by! Peace!
Wednesday, July 09, 2008
For my second layout, I chose a little less bright of a paper for my background! Don't you just love all of those circles! I cut some of them out, backed them with another patterned paper and added some brads for texture! You can click on all of my layouts if you want to get a closer look!
My last Retro Metro project was this cute little card. When it is closed, one flower overlaps the other. I am not a big cardmaker, but I have to say that they are fun to do (and they don't take me nearly as long to make as layouts do.)
Don't forget to stop by the Tinkering Ink blog and the Retro Metro gallery to see what the rest of the DT has come up with. This is one of my favorites! Roree makes a mean card like no one I have ever seen, I tell ya! Thanks for stopping by and Enjoy your day!

And I also wanted to tell everyone (if you already did not know) that the most awesome Becky Fleck of PageMaps fame has started up a blog! Isn't that great? You can visit her at her PageMaps blog where she is having a sketch contest to celebrate her new "bloginess." Give it a shot. You could win some BasicGrey goodness, and her sketches are super fun to work with!
Stay tuned tomorrow for more Tinkering Ink reveals! Have a great night!
I cut the little flowers from one of the papers...aren't they just the cutest flowers ever? I also did a little card with the same flowers:
I will be picking a name later today for the winner of my RAK from this post. If you haven't already done so, drop me a quick comment on it. Check back later to see if you are the winner! I just love making up little goodie packages for RAKs! Off to wash the car! Enjoy your afternoon!
Monday, July 07, 2008
We had a great time this weekend, and I already had a chance to scrap some of our pictures. I will share that layout on another post though because this post is all about the Tinkering Ink Yuletide 2 collection. What a beautiful collection of muted colors that are so very versatile. They added some awesome new designs to an already awesome line! I did this layout about some winter snow fun.
And I also created this holiday card.
You can check out the Tinkering Ink blog for a reveal of some of the other DT members' work. They also have a Yuletide Gallery with more samples...how cool is that! Keep your eye out for more sneak peeks of their other lines this week!
And don't forget to leave a comment on my last post for a chance to win some scrapbook goodies.Enjoy your day!

I had my little "Uncle Sam" pose for a few shots. Trying to get an eight year old to sit still for a picture is like trying to sew buttons on ice cream. He is still cute, though.
An ever bigger challenge for me is those dreaded fireworks shots. I try every year, and every year I fail. Does anyone know of the perfect camera settings for my DigiRebel for the fireworks? I wish I had time to Google that. Please, if you know, tell me.
If you have some fun July 4th shots of your own, link me up! I'd love to see them. Anything July 4th related would be great. You could also link me up to any July 4th scrapbook layouts that you have done. I will send a little goodie package to one random poster who links me up in their comment by Tuesday July 8th. Maybe some BasicGrey, Making Memories, Tinkering Ink and other fun stuff! How does that sound? Good deal! Enjoy your holiday!

I often get on these tangents where I seems to pull toward a certain product or technique. For some reason, it just happens. I think I mentioned that before. Anyway, I am on a bead kick right now. I have this very strong urge to make jewelery, and I spend so much time in craft stores admiring the beads and jewels. Since I really have no idea how to make jewelery, I have been buying beads for my scrapbook pages. It has really been fun, and I love how my pages turn out.
You can see this page and other pages by the 2008 HOF game girls by checking out the CK gallery, and you can join along in the challenge to win a prize from CK on the CK message board! I'd love to see some pages with this LYB line or any of their other awesome lines! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
